ENQUIRE/ENROL

The Certificate IV in Clothing Production combines subjects Couture and Advanced Couture Techniques (ACT). This course requires completion of the Certificate III in Clothing and textiles Production. It is suitable for those wishing to pursue a career in production, and for those who wish to gain advanced skills in made to measure tailored wear, costume, performance wear and embellishment techniques.

ASSESSMENT
Assessment requires completion of all assignments, set tasks and projects. Assessment will also be marked on design, technique and construction capabilities and the capacity to use specialist machines. In order to develop knowledge and skills to successfully complete the course, students are required to be punctual and encouraged to attend all classes.

EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS

  • Approx $1000 (cost will vary depending on quality of accessories and quantity of fabrics purchased)
  • Student Technical Workbooks:
    • Pattern Making and Garment Construction – $55 purchased from MFI
    • Couture and Advanced Couture Techniques – $77 purchased from MFI
  • Detailed equipment lists received at enrolment.

DURATION

  • 12 months
  • Two days per week of face-to-face delivery/assessment
  • 12 hours per week of self-directed learning
