Advanced Fashion Design builds on prior skills learned in Fashion Design, PEA & PMGC. The course extends and advances your capabilities into key areas of design including the design and production of a ready to wear capsule collections. You will display Skills and knowledge in advanced design, pattern making and garment construction. This course is suited to those who wish to expand their design portfolio and demonstrate an understanding of the complete design process, start their own design label or secure a job as a designer in a fashion company.

Assessment requires completion of all assignments, set tasks, projects, tests, presentations and business plan creation. Each unit is assessed through completion of design briefs based around these subjects. In order to develop knowledge and skills to successfully complete the course, students are required to be punctual and encouraged to attend all classes.


  • MFI Fashion Design or equivalent
  • MFI Pattern Making and Garment Construction (PMCG) or equivalent
  • MFI Pattern Engineering for Apparel or equivalent
